Essential Question

For the sake of Grace

This story describes a young girl striving to be more than her society will let her. This answers the essential question, How does knowledge affect our future, because she knows that she is barred from higher learning. She uses this knowledge and wants to become more then the government will let her when grows up, or in the future. She also has the knowledge of her aunt being condemned for trying to take the poetry exam, which changes how she will approach taking it because she knows the consequences. Her aunt changes her future because the young girl has learned from her mistakes.
